Become a Volunteer
It takes a lot of volunteers to maintain the life and vitality of a museum. Here are some ways you can help!
  • Docent - Be a museum tour guide and assist once a month or more on Sunday afternoons 1-4pm or some weekdays - We’ll train!
  • Share your writing skills - Word-smiths are always needed for our special projects, newsletters, website articles, promotional materials and grants.
  • Collection and cataloging - Assist with clerical tasks and collection cataloging.
  • Computer and technology - Provide technical support and computer expertise for our website, newsletter and history calendar.
  • Heritage-based events - Help coordinate and assist with our annual Cherry Blossom Tea, 1843 Site celebration, annual lecture series and special events.
  • Fundraising
  • Historical Society recruitment and membership
  • Educational outreach - Assist with our Traveling Trunks outreach program to area schools and school and group tours to the museum.
  • Dynamite Train Restoration
  • Marketing of our Mission
